Multi-tone Testing of Microwave and Rf Components

چکیده
Simplest (and most expensive) approach may be to combine the outputs of N number of separate signal generators through an N-way power divider. Digital sources, such as a direct digital synthesizer (DDS), can also be used to generate multiple tones, although at a more limited total bandwidth and with less output power than separate signal generators. Similarly, a vector signal generator, which is typically based on a DDS or arbitrary waveform generator, can also produce outputs with multiple tones.

Multi-tone Simulation of Mixers
This paper describes a new artificial frequency mapping technique suitable for the simulation of RF/Microwave mixers when excited by a multi-tone signal. Due to the computational efficiency gained this way, it is for the first time possible to simultaneously analyse small and large signal behaviour of nonlinear mixers subject to real multi-tone signals. As well as the theoretical study, illustr...
متن کاملT 3 Mixer Primer A Tutorial on High Linearity / High IP 3 RF & Microwave Mixers
Intermodulation distortion (IMD) suppression is a critical issue in modern military and commercial RF/microwave systems. Pressed by the demands imposed by distortion-sensitive digital modulation formats, modern systems routinely specify linearity requirements that are impossible to attain using conventional approaches. To meet these new challenges, Marki Microwave has introduced the Two-Tone-Te...
متن کاملOccupational safety: effects of workplace radiofrequencies on hearing function.
BACKGROUND The effects of radio frequency (RF) and microwave radiation on humans have been the subject of continuous investigation. Clinical investigations related to occupational RF/microwave exposure have been reported by investigators (1). Since one of the major groups occupationally exposed to RF and microwave radiation includes those working in radio broadcasting and TV transmitter station...
متن کاملNonlinear Microwave/rf System Design and Simulation Using Agilent Ads ‘system – Data Models’
The successful design of multi-chip modules for microwave systems using EDA tools has been enabled by using behavioral models for the IC components. Databased models were created from large-signal measurements or simulations of the ICs, and the nonlinear performance of the module, such as gain compression, was simulated accurately.
متن کاملModeling Nonlinear Memory Effects on the AM/AM, AM/PM and Two-Tone IMD in Microwave PA Circuits
This article deals with the nonlinear memory effects observed on both AM/AM and AM/PM conversions and swept frequency-separation two-tone intermodulation-distortion (IMD) tests made on microwave power-amplifier (PA) circuits. This study is theoretically introduced via an analytic Volterra series analysis, then complemented with large-signal harmonic balance and envelope simulations of a GaN HEM...
